Colin Davis, PhD ― Professor

Colin Davis grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the eastern coast of Canada obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Economics from St. Mary’s University.

He has been living in Japan for just over ten years, and prior to arriving at Doshisha completed an M.A. and a PhD in Economics at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, before moving to Kobe University to teach courses on microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and economic growth.

As an economist, he is interested in the relationship between economic growth and the structure and organization of industry. In particular, his research focuses on how patterns of international trade, foreign direct investment, and outsourcing, influence the growth of regional and aggregate economies.
