Update on the Fall 2022 Semester Classes (June 13, 2022)

Dear ILA Students,

The Japanese border has been open since March 2022, and we are very happy to be able to welcome students here on campus again. Today, the ILA would like to make an important announcement regarding returning to “in-person” classes on the Imadegawa/Karasuma Campus from the Fall 2022 Semester. Please check the message below carefully.

As planned and previously announced, the ILA will offer all Fall 2022 Semester courses as “in-person” classes. Special accommodation for students who were under the travel restriction will NOT be available from the Fall 2022 Semester.

【ILA Guidelines】
・The ILA continues to request students to enter Japan as soon as possible during the Spring 2022 semester.
・Spring 2022 semester is planned as the last semester that is conducted online or via hybrid teaching for students who cannot enter Japan.
・All ILA courses will be conducted in-person from the Fall 2022 semester. Accordingly, students need to enter Japan to attend “in-person” classes, at the latest, by the start of the term on September 26th, 2022.

Please note that these guidelines may change depending on the COVID-19 situation. However, all students who have not yet entered Japan should be preparing to arrive by the start of the Fall 2022 Semester.

Yours sincerely,

The ILA
