【Important】Change of The Report of Absence Due to COVID-19 (May 10, 2023)

Dear ILA Students,

Since May 8th 2023, COVID-19 has been considered as a Class 5 infectious disease, the same as the seasonal flu, etc. Accordingly, the process for reporting your absence from classes or exams has also been changed. For details, please check the University website below.

  • Please check the call number of the book you want to borrow before visiting the ILA Reference Library. For more information, see the instructions on how to use the "ILA Reference Library" below.
  • If the books that you are looking for are also in the Imadegawa Library or available as an E-book, please consider using them.

IMPORTANT NOTES
  • Please check your temperature when you wake up on the day of your visit to the ILA Reference Library and make sure that you have a normal temperature before your visit.
  • Be sure to wear a mask.
  • Please disinfect your hands at the entrance of the ILA Office before entering.

Regarding Course Registration for the Spring Semester 2024

 

Dear ILA students,

 The course registration information for the Spring Semester 2024 is as follows:

  【Important】New academic calendar starting with DO Week

 Please note that a new academic calendar will be introduced from the Spring Semester 2024. Under the new academic calendar, basically, you will have 13 in-person classes and two on-demand video sessions for a total of 15 sessions. During the first week of the semester (called “Doshisha Opening Week” or “DO Week”), you are expected to access the on-demand video URLs from each syllabus and work on the assignments as instructed in the video.

In ILA courses, the second on-demand session is held between Weeks 6 and 9. You will have the opportunity to view the second on-demand session in addition to attending the in-person lecture, effectively participating in two lectures during one of those weeks. Please carefully check the second on-demand session’s week in each course’s syllabus. The semester ends in Week 14.

【Important】Summary of Course Registration Dates for the Spring Semester 2024


Regarding Registration Errors

Students must correct errors and complete registration within the designated period. For further details about registration errors, please refer to the “ILA Student Handbook 2024”, page 15. Please note that all ILA courses -except intensive courses- have been set for specific class periods. Therefore, a registration error message that needs to be corrected will appear, for example, if a student registers for two or more ILA courses in the same period.

August 4, 2022 Update
There are two ways to log in to DUET: using the Web Single Sign-On Service or logging in directly to DUET. However, due to the system replacement (scheduled on or after August 16), only the way of using Web Single Sign-on Service will be available. After entering your user ID and password at the Web Single Sign-On Service, please log in to DUET via Multi-factor authentication.

University Fees

From AY2024, university fee remittance from overseas bank account has been replaced by credit card payment or Easy-pay(online banking). If you wish to pay the fees by credit card or online banking, please apply from below. *If you are not able to use the system, please consult with the ILA office.

A tuition payment slip will be sent to your registered address in Japan in the beginning of semester. If you have changed your address, please contact the ILA office.

Students who have been requested by Office of International Students to submit certificates for CoE application, please refer to the below and apply at the Application System for Certificates.
